SELF EMPLOYED
Self-Employed Persons Program allows foreign nationals with relevant experience in cultural activities, athletics or farm management to immigrate to Canada permanently as self-employed.
The program targets those who have the experience, intention and ability to establish a business which can make a significant contribution to Canada’s cultural life or sports.
In order to be self-employed, applicants must meet both the eligibility requirements and meet the minimum passing mark under the program’s selection criteria.
Are you Eligible for Self-Employed Persons Program?
To be eligible to the self-employed person program, you must meet the following main requirements:
- at least two years experience of participation in cultural activities or athletics at a world-class level;
- at least two years experience of self-employment in cultural activities of athletics; or
- at least two years of farm management experience
- meet the selection’s criteria assessed depending on experience, education, age, language abilities and adaptability
- must get a minimum of 35 points out of a 100
- applicants and family members have to undergo medical tests, and provide police certificates for countries where they lived.
- must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to settle in Canada
