Entrepreneur Visa is for foreign entrepreneurs or businessmen or senior manager who are looking to establish, invest in or acquire a business in Canada.
Are you eligible for Entrepreneur Visa?
To qualify for Entrepreneur Visa, the applicant should be willing and be able to establish, invest in or acquire a business in Canada which will create or maintain employment in the country.
To be eligible, an applicants must:
- have at least two years of experience in running a business or in a senior management role acquired during the five years preceding the date he/she submitted his/her application. This should be in a lawful and profitable business that they manage alone or with an accompanying spouse or common-law spouse
- have experience in running a business or in a senior management role. This is defined as the actual and full-time assuming of the responsibilities and duties related to the planning, management and control of material, financial and human resources, or specialization process attested to by a diploma; and
- control at least 25% of the capital equity
It will take into account other factors such as:
- Applicant’s age and the age of their spouse;
- The nature and duration of applicant’s training; and
- The applicant’s language skills
If qualified for an Entrepreneurial Program, an applicant and its immediate family can obtain Canadian Permanent Residency if the applicant is intending to reside in Canada.
